Free Outdoor Movies in Stanley Park!

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

Summer, summer, summer. No, we are not talking about “500 Days of Summer” (although, we recommend that movie), but about one important event you can enjoy in July and August.

Evo Summer Cinema! These are outdoor movies and, as their name suggests, are movies that happen outside of a theatre… Thank us later for the explanation 😂. Fresh air cinema just turned Friday night movies into Tuesday night films!

The best part is that it's FREE. Yes, we said that in the title, and we’ll repeat it. Free outdoor movies – no ticket needed! No reservations are required, first-come-first-serve seating, so arrive early!

However, if you prefer sitting in chairs instead of a towel, reserved seating costs $20+. You will be on the first row, but paying for a spot is honestly unnecessary.

Event Details

📅When: Every Tuesday evening, from July 4th until August 22nd, between 8:15 p.m.-9:20 p.m.

🎥Number of movies played: one film will be played per day. (Keep reading to see the exact time and what movies will be screened).

Things You Need To Bring

  • Blankets: Whether you want to sit, warm up, or snuggle on them, blankets are a must-have for a cool summer evening under the stars.

  • Friends: Everything is more fun when you’re with friends! Especially when they are there to laugh, eat snacks, and enjoy a film under the stars with you.

  • Time: Arrive early to get the better spots. You can chill on Second Beach while you wait. In fact, there are tons of things you can do before the movie starts.

  • Snacks: Pack your favorite summer snacks, or grab a cold beverage for the movie, this is a MUST. If you don’t take snacks, they normally sell popcorn at the event and have tons of food trucks.

  • Phone or Camera: Once your spot is staked out, snacks are in action and the movie starts rolling, you will want to capture the moment and share it with your friends.

  • Don't forget lawn chairs to avoid back pains 👨🏼‍🦳.
